It has been a proud and honorable moment for the host country India to win the first edition of kho kho world cup in not just one but both the categories. The nation is proud of each and every member who represented the country at the international level and won the gold medal.

The inaugural season of the Kho Kho World Cup was held in New Delhi, India from January 13, 2025 to January 19, 2025. The event was organized by Kho Kho Federation of India and the International Kho Kho Federation. The event was hosted for both men and women. A total of 26 countries from 6 continents took part in the event. The total number of teams in men’s category is 20 and in women’s category is 19. The next edition of Kho Kho World Cup will be held in 2026-2027 in Birmingham, England.

The game was played in fast paced seven a side format which is the ultimate format to play Kho Kho. The game was divided in two stages that is the group stage and the knockout stage. The group stage comprises of 4 groups in which every team fought against all the other teams in their group. The top two teams from each group qualified for the knockout stage including the quarter finals, semi finals and finals.

The inaugural edition in both men’s and women’s category is won by India. The men’s team won against Nepal with scoreline of 54-36. The women’s team has also beaten Nepal with scoreline of 78-40.
